Lisa Santa-Maria Barbagallo, M.A., C. Psych.

Career Counsellor – Ontario

Lisa is a Registered Psychologist, living in Toronto. She specializes in both career and personal counselling and enjoys working collaboratively with her clients, providing them with tools and equipping them with skills to help them overcome the challenges they face. As Lisa views career as something that can impact various aspects of an individual’s life (e.g., finances, personal growth, family life, self-esteem), she views career wellness from a holistic perspective and aims to support her clients by looking at all aspects of their lives and focusing on building personal strengths.  Her approach is eclectic and primarily relies on Solution Focused, Cognitive-Behavioural and Emotion-Focused techniques.

Prior to relocating to Toronto in 2017, Lisa worked at Concordia University in Montreal for 10 years, helping a diverse population of students within the areas of both career and personal counselling. During her time there, she provided career counselling services as well as developed and facilitated workshops and graduate seminars focused on career assessment, the career exploration process, and providing students with guidance and direction to help them navigate their career journeys. In addition to her work with the student population, Lisa also has experience assessing executives through her work with Toronto’s Cleveland Clinic. Outside of career counselling, Lisa also supports clients experiencing emotional concerns (e.g., anxiety and depression), low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, transitional issues, and managing work-life balance.

Lisa is a Registered Psychologist with the Ontario College of Psychologists as well as l’Ordre des Psychologues du Quebec. She earned a Bachelors of Science in Psychology, Honours degree from the University of Ottawa and a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from McGill University.
