Are you working effectively from home

With more people working from home, we understand the unique challenges that come with it at Canada Career Counselling. Here are some tips to tackle 3 common hurdles:

1. Balancing Work/Life Priorities
Creating boundaries around your work hours at home can be tough but is crucial to avoid burnout. Try setting consistent work hours to maintain a balance between work and personal life. Also, consider focusing on one task at a time. Multitasking isn’t as effective as we might think, so save chores like laundry for after work.

2. Staying Motivated
Staying indoors for long periods can be demotivating. Try getting dressed for work and establishing a routine, even if your commute is just down the hall. Take breaks and get a change of scenery to recharge throughout the day.

3. Organizing Your Physical Workspace
Many of us have set up makeshift workstations in various parts of our homes. Aim to create a designated workspace free of personal items and clutter. Implement ergonomic principles to reduce strain, such as keeping your knees, hips, and elbows at 90 degrees and your chin parallel to the floor.

No matter the challenges you face in your work environment, career coaching can help you identify and overcome them.
